2 at a time, Toe up, Socks

Do you ever suffer from 2nd sock syndrome (after the initial sock is finished  you can't find the desire to start the 2nd sock)?  Knitting both socks using the magic loop puts an end to 2nd sock syndrome.  Both socks get completed at the same time.  

Consists of four, two hour sessions Tuesdays from 6:30-8:30 PM

Prerequisite:  Advance beginner/intermediate knitter.  Must be able to cast-on, knit & purl.

$80 + tax

Materials: Not included; 100 g fingering wt. yarn & a 40" circular needle

Beginning Weaving

Learn to weave on a rigid heddle loom. 

Prerequisite:  None

This workshop consists of basic weaving terminology, warping/threading the loom, weaving and finishing the project.  Everyone will take home a completed table runner

$80 + tax: includes all materials

Saltwater Mitten Techniques

I invite you to learn "traditional Newfoundland double ball mittens" as shared with me by co-author Shirley Scott.

We will learn how to make increase for the hand, following a chart and carrying two colors of yarn.

Prerequisite: Intermediate.  Must be able to knit, purl & cast on stitches.

$65 + tax.  Includes: pattern & 2 skeins "Regal" yarn

Materials required: Not included; 4 mm double pointed needles, ring marker

This class will consist of two, 2 hour classes, second class Monday Jan 20th.

Learn to knit warm & soft Thrummed Mittens

Prerequisite:  **must know how cast on stitches and knit in the round

Home work required (must drop into the shop & pick up wool to knit cuff)

Briggs & Little Heritage Yarn, pattern and  pencil roving will be included.

This class will consist of two, 2 hour classes, 2nd date Wed Jan. 22nd

$65 + tax

Needles: Not included but available for purchase 3.5 mm & 4 mm DPN's

Day time class: Friday Jan 17th & 24th 10 am- 12:00 pm

**If you are unable to knit on 4 needles in the round, just let me know & I can get you started.

Sock Blank Dye workshop

This is a fun and dynamic workshop where we will hand paint a sock blank.

A sock blank is a pre-knit rectangle of fingering weight sock yarn.  The blank is pre-knit with 2 strands of  yarn, that when painted/dyed, will produce 2 identical 50 g lengths of yarn.

Prerequisite: None Dress in old clothes & /or bring an apron

$45 + tax for the 1st blank or paint a 2nd blank for an additional $28 + tax

Note: Please use left rear entrance of the church (basement)

Learn to carry 2nd yarn to create beautiful stranded colorwork/Fair isle 

Prerequisite: Must be able to cast on and knit in the round

Home work: Drop in to the shop & pick up yarn to cast on & knit 2.75 inches of rib
